Stoke wins at the TVNZ Marketing Awards 2017

Newmarket showroom Stoke Fireplace Studio has only been open for two years but it’s already making a name for itself, taking out the Best Emerging Business/New Brand award at last week’s TVNZ Marketing Awards.

Sarah Hill (Head of Sales and Marketing at Escea) and Malcolm Burton (Stoke Auckland) all glammed up for the TVNZ Marketing Awards.

Stoke Fireplace Studio is the brainchild of Dunedin fireplace manufacturer Escea, who teamed up with seasoned retailer Malcolm Burton to launch the retail franchise in May 2016.

Mr Burton is thrilled with the result. “Stoke is fanatical about fireplaces. In our eyes, they’re an architectural piece of art, and the fireplace studio is our way of getting that across to architects and their clients. That’s our main driver, but this award is the icing on the cake.”

Mr Burton says that the award was a well-earned recognition of the efforts of Escea’s in-house marketing team. Through an integrated marketing campaign that included digital, PR, print, social, direct mail and TV sponsorship activities, Stoke exceeded first year expectations.  The franchise extended to Stoke Queenstown and Stoke Wellington this year, ahead of schedule.

Head of sales and marketing Sarah Hill says: “ The commercial success of Stoke comes down to market research and consumer insights, great retail partners, innovative products and a strong and alluring brand identity.”

The pair were thrilled, but completely surprised, when their theme song “Light My Fire” started up and they realised they had won.
